11/30: Auction Update

Our Online School Auction is shaping up to be a huge success! Thanks to the generosity of our families, local businesses, and community partners, we’ve collected an amazing variety of auction items — from restaurant gift cards and family fun packages to unique local experiences and super fun activities with teachers right here at the school. Who’s ready to make Mrs Mueller a SUNDAEEE?!

The auction will officially go live on November 30th and will run through December 7th. All proceeds directly support our school events, students and teachers, helping us continue to make Lacamas Lake Elementary a wonderful place for our students to learn and grow.

Want a sneak peak? Go here.

A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed so far — your time, donations, and enthusiasm make all the difference! Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to auction week, and get ready to bid, share, and support our school community.

Our goal this year is to get the word out across our Camas community and encourage as many people as possible to join in and bid. The more who participate, the more support our school receives — so please share the auction link with friends, neighbors, and family!

Together, we’re making great things happen!

FROM YOUR FUNDRAISING CREW

Direct Drive Fundraiser - The Results Are In

Picture
Thank you, Lacamas Lake Elementary community! Your generous support for our annual Direct Drive fundraiser helped us raise approximately $15,000 toward our $30,000 annual goal — great job! We couldn’t have done it without you.

We’d also like to give a special shoutout to some standout participants who went above and beyond to help us reach this milestone.
  • 109 students helped with at least one donation — each earning 10 extra Spot Ya’s on their account.
  • 86 students reached their individual $100 goal, earning the infamous Field Day Pop-it Bracelet.
  • Kindergarten took the top grade, earning a popcorn and movie party while rocking their favorite cozies!
  • Kinsley D. (Kindergarten) earned top individual honors for both number of donations and total dollars raised, scoring herself a pizza and dessert party with seven friends!
As for our overall progress this year — we’ve officially hit the $20,000 mark, which means Mrs. Mueller will be turned into a human sundae! Even better, students will have the chance to bid for a spot to help with the sundae fun during our auction at the end of the month.

Thank you again to everyone who donated, shared, and supported our Direct Drive. Your generosity makes all the difference for our students and school community!

UPCOMING VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

10/24: Fall Fest - Volunteers Shortage
Fall Fest is at risk without the support of more volunteers — we really need your help! Do you have an older student (middle or high school), grandparent, favorite auntie, who’d like to help run games for an hour? We’d love to have them join the fun!

If we’re unable to get some more helping hands signed up this year, then we’ll need to scale back on the fun activities we typically have — like the Cake Walk, fun games with prizes, and the Spooky Library. The event is sure to be a fun time no matter what - but more volunteer support will ensure we make it the best it can be for our school community! Will you help us?

Sign up to volunteer here.
11/6: Conference Week - Staff Dinner
On Thursday, November 6th, let’s show our amazing staff some love! During conference week, our teachers and staff work long hours supporting our students and families, so we want to treat them to a delicious dinner as a small token of our appreciation.

Check out the Evite for ways you can help — whether it’s donating soups, salads, drinks, or desserts (store-bought or homemade are both welcome!) or lending a hand with setup and cleanup. Every little bit helps make this dinner special for our incredible LLE team!

Sign up here.
11/14 - Family Bingo Night | 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM | LLE Commons
Leadership is hosting their awesome Bingo Night soon, and PALS is in charge of running the concessions! This is a fantastic opportunity for us to raise funds and support a fun community event.

We need your help to make sure our concession stand is a success.
Please sign up for a shift here.
11/17 - 11/21: Art Discovery Week
Our first Art Discovery Project of the year is happening and we need your help! Please go to our evite here and sign up for your favorite Leopard’s class. We're excited to do our first ever ceramics project this Fall and we need several general helpers for each class. Feel free to sign up for more than one class. Grandparents, nannies, cool uncles, whoever has a connection to a Leopard and has passed the volunteer clearance here is welcome to join us!

FROM YOUR FUNDRAISING CREW

LLE PALS UPDATES

At LLE, our goal is to share communications with you at least 30 days in advance. We hope this gives you plenty of time to participate in events — and, if you’re able to, volunteer as well. These PALS Updates are always a great resource to revisit and see what’s coming up at LLE. Without further ado, let’s dive in to our PALS Update.

FROM YOUR FUNDRAISING CREW

We're excited to share that we'll have several fundraisers this year with a combined goal of $100 raised per student. These include the following kick backs to LLE"s PALS:

  • Direct Drive (10/1 - 10/24): 100% of your collected donations
  • Online Auction (11/30-12/7): 100% of your winning bid
  • Payback App (Available anytime for purchase): $10 per app purchased
  • Custom Wrapping Paper & Gift Bags (9/22 - 10/8):  $5 per roll
  • EduKits (Coming this Spring for 2026/2027 school year): $5 per kit + $100 off our insurance
  • LLE Yearbook (Available now for purchase through 5/13/25): $5 per book
  • Dine-Outs (7 planned throughout the year): ranges from 10-25% of your total purchase
  • Event Concessions (Available at multiple PALS events):  varies based on food costs

Think - Choose your own adventure - Fundraising style!

We also want you to know you are not alone in these efforts. Invite a friend to our Dine Outs, Offer the Payback App to co-workers, let extended family know about the custom gift wrap. Anyway you slice it that adds up to $100/student is beyond appreciated and helps keeps our PALS events free!

NOTE: This year we aim to keep you more informed about our progress towards that goal. To date we have raised just under $3k towards our $30K budget.

We’re kicking off our first Dine Out of the year with Five Guys & Menchies, and they’re stoked to support LLE!
Here’s how it works:
✅ 20% of all sales from anyone who shows our flyer or mentions LLE goes right back to our school.
✅ Flyers will be sent home with students—share them with family, friends, and neighbors!
✅ The more people who participate, the more funds we raise for our Leopards.
Let’s make this a deliciously successful night for LLE!

Did You Know?

Classroom Wishlist on Amazon
Did you know our awesome teacher's spend a significant amount of their own paycheck buying things for their classroom. We would love to see our community help with that lift. Each teacher, and a few other key staff members, has their own personalized Amazon Wishlist for their classroom. The lists vary, but have things like left hand scissors, books the student's love, supplies for a craft that goes with a lesson, prizes and so much more. These lists get updated all year long, so continue to check back.

Find the lists under the Fundraising tab or here.

Consent to Contact
Did you know PALS does not have access to Parent Square and cannot directly reach out with out your consent? Every student should have received a consent flyer from PALS in their purple folder at back-to-school night. Without that being turned in, we cannot reach out to you with updates and opportunities to volunteer. Can't find your flyer? Email us at [email protected] and share your consent to contact including your first/last name, email, student(s) name and grade(s).

We don't want you to miss out!

PALS is on Facebook
Thank you to everyone who shared their Back 2 School pictures on our First Day of School Facebook thread! We can’t wait to see them featured in this year’s yearbook—it’s always so fun to look back on these memories.

This year, we’re hoping to do even more of this! When we create event posts on Facebook, you’ll be able to drop your photos right in the comments, and they may be selected for the yearbook. So be sure to follow us!

Not on Facebook or prefer not to post publicly? No problem! You can always send your pictures directly to PALS by private message or email them to [email protected]

That was a lot of "L's") and PALS volunteers were able to warmly welcome our young reader to come shop with their hard earned reading points at the Winter Bookworm Bazaar. Points are earned by completing 20/20 Paws (Grades K-2) and Read N Quiz (Grades 3 - 5). Keep reading and get your invite to the next Bookworm Bazaar in Spring.

Slime Time with Miller + Friends!
Five lucky winners and their friends cashed in on their auction winnings this week where they made slime with Mrs. Miller. The kids had a blast creating their concoctions as you can see below. Thank you Mrs. Miller for bringing such a fun item to the auction that supports LLE.

Soccer Shenanigans with Mr. McLeod
First Grader Bennett and six of his buddies had a small group coaching session with our one and only Mr. McLeod. After learning their new skills and playing a quick scrimmage, they got to square off against him for penalty shots. The kids left all smiles after a great workout, new tricks for the playground, and full of pizza. Thank you Mr. McLeod for offering this great experience at this year's auction. It was truly a hit!

FROM OUR LLE COMMUNITY

Principal for the Day

By: Jorge Cubero

Through our PALS auction, I won “Principal for the Day” where my two daughters are students at Lacamas Lake Elementary School. I shadowed our principal, Mrs. Mueller, giving me an experience to see firsthand how our school operates as both an educational institution and community hub. I participated in the morning message as well as providing select classrooms lessons on “Perseverance”. I was deeply impressed by how teachers connected with students. Their methods emphasized collaboration, curiosity, and resilience, reminding me that education is not just about academics but about preparing students for life’s challenges.

At the end, I was fortunate enough to take questions from students about my military career to demonstrate the importance of determination and grit. This experience reinforced my belief that education is a partnership between teachers, students, and parents. Parental involvement is vital not just attending conferences or assemblies, but actively engaging in the school community. As parents, we are the foundation of our children success, and our involvement strengthens both their growth and the Camas community. In a country rooted in shared values like perseverance, hard work, and responsibility, being a parent means upholding those principles and leading by example. Participating in this role reminded me that when parents show up for their children, we’re reinforcing the ideals that unite us as Americans. I encourage all parents to find ways to engage with their child’s education.

Thank you, Lacamas Lake Elementary School, for this incredible experience and for reminding me of the impact we can all make when we work together.
